·               High School:  Berlin High School, Berlin, Okla.

           

·        College:  Southwestern Okla. State University, Weatherford, Okla.

      Graduated May 19, 1972 With a Bachelor of Science degree with 170 hours total. I have Majors in Math with 41 hours and in Physics with 55 hours.  I, also, received a minor in Economics with 15 hours in Economics classes and 11 hours in computer classes.  I began work on a Masters in the spring of 1994, and finished my masters in the Summer of 1998 with a Masters in school Administration.  I have also been taking additional computer classes, including a 3 hour Internet class, Word, Power Point, Excel and Access.  I took a workshop in the summer of 1995 on how to teach Applied Math.

 

·        I have taken a two week workshop on how to teach AP Computer Science for C++ in the summer of 1999 and again in 2000.  In the summer of  2000  I took workshops on how to teach AP Calculus (1 week at OSU) and in AP Physics (1 week at OU).

 

·        Vo-Tech: Canadian Valley Vo-Tech, El Reno, Oklahoma. I took classes in welding, heating and air-conditioning, and residential wiring in 1975-76.

 

·        Honeywell: Was given special classes at work on Honeywell's 6000 series computers, in Job control, Cobol-IDS, and Assembly languages in 1973.


 

              Work Experience

·        At College:  I was lab assistant in Physics lab for more than 1 semester and was lab assistant in the computer room for more than one semester.

 

·        Honeywell: I Worked as a computer programmer and system analyst in the Design Automation department at Okla. City from July 1972-July 1977.  At this job, I debugged and wrote computer programs that designed and manufactured computer circuit boards.  Note:  I began with Honeywell who in 1974 sold part interest to CDC and renamed Okla. City's offices "Magnetic Peripherals".   They are now Seagate.

 

·        Bales Dozer Service:  I owned and operated my own business which I started at the time I quit Honeywell in 1977 until 1994. I built terraces and dams.

 

·        Computer Consultant:  Since 1990, I have worked part time helping businesses in Northwest Oklahoma set up or maintain business information on their computers, specializing in lost data recovery and special equipment connections.

 

·        Computer Dealer:  Since 1991, I have owned Arnett Educational and Business Computers where I build, repair, and setup computers for Schools, Business, and Families.  By working from my home, I have been able to sell at a bargain.

 

·        Teacher at Dover, Oklahoma.: 1994-1995.

       I taught 4 courses in math, one in physics and one in computer applications. The math courses included Advanced Math to Seniors, Applied Math to Freshman, Eight Grade Math, and Geometry to Sophomores.  I was, also, responsible for complete installation of some 100 computers in a network of 53 new Macintoshes in grade School and 38 new IBM Compatibles in high school, as a result I gained valuable experience in novel networking hardware and software systems.

 

·        Teacher at Butler, Oklahoma.  1995 to 2001.

      In the six years at Butler I have been the head of the math department teaching math to 7th through 12th graders.  Subjects include 7th Math, 8th Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Algebra II, Geometry, and Trig-Calculus, and Advanced Math classes including AP Calculus.  I have, also, taught Physics for 3 out of the six years and taught AP Physics the last year.  I taught two classes in computer applications the last 3 years and have taught AP Computer Science in C++ for the last two years.  I have been the main computer repair person and advisor for the school.

 

·        In the last few year at Butler I have written many grants and the school now has a complete Windows NT network system of about 50 computers and I have installed a complete distance learning system as a result of these grants.  I have been responsible for equipment ordering decisions, installation, maintenance and rules and regulations for these systems.  I have been responsible for the entire network wiring and user access and permissions for the entire school.

 

·        SWOSU at Sayre 2001-2002 I have been the Network Administrator and have maintained the computers and Distance learning equipment at Sayre.  We have about 200 computers with various operating system to maintain.  I have been teaching the network type classes including Networking,  Operating Environments which is Computer repair, Internship to Networking in Novell, and other computer seminars classes.  I am responsible for the phone system, energy effency of heat and air, distance learning manager, campus servers, and wiring.  I have been on the Leadership council to the Dean and in the Faculty Association

 

·        Teacher Certifications: Algebra, Analysis, Calculus, General Mathematics, Geometry, Trigonometry, General science, Physical Science, Physics, Science Ms-Jr. High, Chemistry and Geology.  I can, also, teach Computers and have a Principals certificate with a Masters in School Administration..
