Professor E.K. Jeong
Southwestern Oklahoma State University
E.K. Jeong received her BFA in Fiber Arts from Dong-A University, Busan, Korea. She then moved to the United States in 1993 and continued to develop her artistic expression by pursuing her MFA in Mixed Media and Fiber Sculpture, and a BA in Art History from the State University of New York at New Paltz. Throughout her formal art education, she has explored old and new media including tapestry, weaving, drawing, painting, papermaking, mixed media, and installation art.
Jeong is an active participant in many national and international exhibitions. She was invited to exhibit her work in the 4th (2006) and 5th (2008) International Fiber Art Biennale in Suzhou and Beijing, China. She also won the Best of Show from the juried exhibition “Paper Work In, on, and of Paper IV.” She had a solo show at the Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles, MO in the summer of 2010.

SWOSU Art Department Assistant Professor E.K. Jeong recently opened her solo exhibition at the Foundry Art Centre in St. Charles (Metro St. Louis), MO.
The exhibition, featuring works in mixed media (ink, paint, fiber, clay, canvas, and wood) was awarded to Jeong as part of her prize for the "Best of Show" award she received at the Foundry's Paperwork IV competition in 2008.
“I still remember the moment that I learned to make a view-finder with my hands. My fascination for learning a new field started then. I learned painting, weaving, tapestry, sculpture, and installation. While integrating digital media into my art-making process, my multi-disciplinary art practice continues to grow.”
