Jessica Young, M.S., ATC, LAT

Allied Health Coordinator; Director Athletic Training
Athletic Training Program


Jessica Young currently serves as the Coordinator of Allied Health Sciences.  Her responsibilities include administrative oversight of the department, advisement for over 17 pre-professional majors, recruitment of students, and upholding to the standards of the Higher Learning Committee and the Oklahoma Board of Regents.  She is also the Program Director for the SWOSU CAATE accredited Athletic Training Program.

Jessica is a native of Filley, NE and moved to Oklahoma in 2006 to begin her career at SWOSU as Instructor and the Clinical Coordinator of the Athletic Training Program.  During that time, she was also the Certified Athletic Trainer for the SWOSU Volleyball Team.  She is a member of the Western Technology Center Biomedical Advisory Board and member of the SWOSU medical advisory committee.  She attended the Outstanding Professor Academy in 2012, and served as the advisor for the Oklahoma Athletic Trainers’ Association (OATA) Student Leadership Council from 2007-2015.

Jessica received a Masters of Science degree in Exercise Science from the University of Nebraska at Omaha in 2005 and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of Nebraska at Kearney in 2000.  She became a Certified Athletic Trainer from the Board of Certification in August of 2000, and currently holds an active AT licensure in Oklahoma.
