I have been employed with SWOSU since 1992. In 2007, I received the University’s prestigious Bernhardt Academic Excellence Award. I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Speech/Theatre Education from Southwestern Oklahoma State University and a Master of Arts in Theatre from Oklahoma State University. Last year Steve received Southwestern’s Bernhardt Academic Excellence Award. In my sixteen years at SWOSU, I have directed 38 theatre productions for SWOSU. Twenty-Two have been entered in the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival (KCACTF); ten have been nominated to advance to the regional festival, and four of them have advanced. I have received numerous awards through KCACTF. Two of the most prestigious were the Gold Medallion for Service and the Region VI KCACTF Faculty Fellow – which included a fellowship at the Kennedy Center with only three other directors from the United States. Equally as rewarding was seeing three of my students advance to the National Theatre Festival – one of whom won the National Sound Design award.
